Endowment

The AIC Endowment Fund is a key charitable entity that affords the Association of International Champions (AIC) one of many opportunities to 'give back' to the Society, through grants that support a variety of barbershop-oriented youth music education programs.

To date, the Fund has contributed more than $100,000 in support of these programs.

The Fund supports a variety of quartet and youth programs across a number of different disciplines and cultures. Grants can range from $250 to more than $5,000, depending on the number of requests approved, the size of a given program, and its applicability to the primary purposes of the AIC.

The Fund was initiated in 1992, and is a subsidiary fund within Harmony Foundation, the charitable arm of the Barbershop Harmony Society, a non-profit organization.

Grants can range from $250 to more than $5,000, depending on the number of requests approved, the size of a given program, and its applicability to the primary purposes of the AIC. The AIC Endowment is funded through income from specific AIC events and/or contributions declared by the AIC Board of Directors on a semi-annual basis. In addition, voluntary contributions from Association members, Society members, or other unspecified benefactors are graciously accepted as well.

All contributions are invested in the Endowment Fund as principal, which will be left intact as long as the AIC is in existence. The investment income of the Fund, including interest and all other return on investments, is made available in the form of grants to individuals and/or organizations which serve the primary purposes of the AIC, primarily, Youth in Harmony programs and events.
