He was active with The Diamonds for three years on the road (famous for Why Do Fools Fall In Love, The Stroll, Silhouettes and Little Darlin'). Most recently John has been actively singing jazz in several Seattle jazz clubs. The reaction was so positive he decided to record and has released his own solo project. QuartetVolume 1 & 2 The Good News! was originally formed in 1986 by Mo Rector (Mark IV - 1969), and included Joe Mazzone (Regents - 1974), Dale Deiser (Mark IV - 1969), and Jerry Fairchild (Sidewinders - 1964). Their ministry was to arrange and sing Christian hymns and gospel songs in the Barbershop style, and produce learning tapes and song folios for other groups. They also began the Good News! Gospel Sing at the annual Barbershop Harmony Convention. Jim Foy replaced Mo Rector in 1991 and the Happiness Emporium (1975) took over the ministry in 2000. As the Good News! Gospel Quartet, the foursome travels the country singing gospel shows and church services, as well as hosting the annual Good News! Gospel Sing. They continue to produce learning CDs and song folios of the arrangements as well as listening CDs.
